Transcript for: Practical Aspects Of Review

I didn't find it too onerous to be honest. I worked quite closely with Mike, he made it very clear about how the system works. Having gone through it once already I had a pretty good idea of how it works anyway. It didn't take me that long to write it up actually. In this school I think we got it from the first head teacher, she tended to work on a "if its not on one side of A4 its not worth reading" so we do tend to do things like that so basically my departments of evaluation is on one A4 piece of paper, the actual end product. From that point of view it wasn't particularly onerous. I think the key thing is that it does run smoothly and that when you set up meetings and teachers know that they are going to be observing they are observed, now in a school things can happen on a daily basis which make that problematical, for my evaluation it went smoothly there weren't problems with that. I think there are occasions when it can be problematical - because at the end of the day - we are not an ofstead team, they will come in and that's their priority and nothing phases them from that, we are an institution where lots of things are happening on a daily basis but you know there have been occasions I think when sometimes the reviews over-ran and things like that and things had to be rescheduled but I haven't personally had that.
